Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later that year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. The news was released on December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole in her Creed II sound track on November 16. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within its first seven days. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
