Sarah became a fan of the stage at a very young age, while still attending the prep school. Her drama teacher spotted her running across his lawn in an effort not to arrive late for the field hockey game, he advised that she should not attend practice but take part in the production of Richard III and thus began her love affair with acting. Sarah's enthusiasm for performing led her to pursue a double major in English with Theatre in Hamilton College. She was a junior at Hamilton College and studied theater abroad in London as well as Oxford. Sarah was urged to get educated about the arts by both her parents.
